ABOUT THE WORK
Artwork Description
A vibrant and tactile 24x18 mixed media exploration on canvas, sealed under a glass-like layer of epoxy resin.
This piece is a dense, psychedelic ecosystem teeming with life, decay, and discovery.
An earthy palette of black, yellow, green, and reddish-blue is electrified by bright, colorful elements, creating a sense of fecund, almost overwhelming abundance.
The painting is a cabinet of curiosities, incorporating unique found objects like a handmade pendant sealed with breast milk and placenta—a deeply personal token of creation and origin—alongside vintage pins, a brass compass, and glass gems.
The surface is a labyrinth where a praying mantis hunts, a parrot is caught in a net, and ancient staircases lead to nowhere, all coexisting in a surreal, symbolic landscape that speaks to the interconnectedness and raw struggle of existence.

THE ARTIST'S VOICE
Interpretation / Story
Miasmic Jungle explores the psychological terrain between the seen and the unseen — a meditation on emotion, memory, and the fragile thresholds of identity. The work invites contemplation of inner landscapes and the quiet movement of thought beneath form.
WHAT LIVES INSIDE
Hidden Images & Symbolic Elements
Hidden Images & Found Objects: Handmade Pendant (Breast Milk & Placenta): The ultimate symbol of origin, nourishment, and the primal, biological cycle of life. Praying Mantis Eating: The natural, and sometimes brutal, order of predation and survival. Monarch Butterfly & Parrot in Net: Transformation and vibrant beauty contrasted with entrapment and the disruption of nature. Vintage Compass: A search for direction, both literal and spiritual, within the chaotic jungle of life. Cinnamon Sticks & Sage: Natural elements that evoke the senses of smell and taste, and are often used in ritual cleansing and grounding. Ancient Brick Walls & Staircases: The ruins of past civilizations and the ascent into the unknown. Cave Walls with Ancient Drawings: A connection to primordial human expression and the unconscious mind. Globe Image & Aerial View of Roads: A macro perspective, reminding us that this entire jungle is a microcosm of the world. Deer/Antelope Horns & Snake's Head: Masculine energy, intuition, and the latent danger that lurks in nature. Lock of Hair & Red String: Personal identity, sorcery, and talismanic protection.
