ABOUT THE WORK

Artwork Description

A captivating inspired by a guided meditation of the same name from Susanna Is This a Dream. The composition depicts a serene yet mystical water world, where a woman's body appears to float upward, as if in the act of astral projection. Beneath her, a set of steps and a subtly hidden hand suggest a transition between physical and ethereal states. Found objects, including a small broken clock, add layers of meaning, evoking themes of time, transformation, and the subconscious. A central collage image of a lake anchors the piece, while the lower portion features textured collage elements resembling sand or rocks. The upper expanse shimmers in bright sky-blue and water tones, accented with delicate gold hues. by Megan Ashman is a thought-provoking exploration of transcendence and the fluid boundaries between reality and imagination. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity, this unique artwork is a striking addition to any collection, offering endless interpretive possibilities.

THE ARTIST'S VOICE

Interpretation / Story

The Crystal Lake reads as a study of water, memory, and emotional depth, the human figure, identity, and emotional presence, spirit, dream, and threshold imagery. The layered mixed-media surface turns image, texture, and material detail into a luminous and prismatic, organic and atmospheric atmosphere, inviting slow looking and a personal symbolic reading.
