ABOUT THE WORK
Artwork Description
Predominantly rendered in monochromatic tones, this composition centers on two hands reaching toward each other in desperate connection—fingers extended, palms open, contact imminent or perhaps forever suspended in the moment before touch.
Surrounding this gesture, fragments of sculptural faces emerge from shadowed layers, classical statuary witnessing human tenderness.
Purple and blue undertones whisper beneath the grayscale like bruises beneath skin.
The collage layers suggest palimpsest, each piece of paper another failed attempt at connection, another witness to longing.
Texture creates actual dimension where hands nearly meet, as if they're reaching through the canvas surface itself, trying to break through the barrier between artwork and viewer, between memory and present, between ghost and flesh.

THE ARTIST'S VOICE
Interpretation / Story
This piece explores themes of connection, isolation, witnessing, and the profound human need to be touched and seen. The reaching hands could represent lovers separated, aspects of self seeking integration, or the divide between suffering person and helping hand. The surrounding stone faces suggest we are always watched by something larger—ancestors, gods, or the accumulated weight of every human who has ever reached for another in darkness.
WHAT LIVES INSIDE
Hidden Images & Symbolic Elements
Hands represent connection, healing, reaching across divides, or the desperate human need for touch. The classical sculpture fragments suggest ancient archetypes, the timeless nature of longing, or perhaps the way we become stone when witnessed only from outside. The monochromatic palette emphasizes form and emotion over distraction, suggesting memory faded to essential gesture. Purple undertones hint at bruising, sorrow, or spiritual seeking.
